Troubleshooting Your Panel

Click on the name of your panel to learn some solutions to the problem you may be having!

Before Troubleshooting

Press △Trouble Indicator to view the system trouble condition. Find the section below for your trouble condition.

Sensor Low Battery

Change the battery in the sensor. Make sure the cover is completely on when you are finished.

System Low Battery

Disarm your system and open the security system control panel (usually in the basement utility area) to find the system battery. Disconnect the black wire. Do the same with the red wire. Then place your new battery in the control panel and connect the red wire to red battery terminal and black wire to black battery terminal.

Sensor Tamper

Ensure the cover to the sensor is on securely. Take the cover off and put it back on if necessary. Make sure the cover itself is not damaged or broken.

Call our office if the message does not clear.

Sensor Supervisory

The sensor is not communicating with your panel. Ensure that your sensor is not damaged, wet or missing. Make sure the battery did not die.

Call our office for further assistance.

Power Outage Trouble

Press △Trouble Indicator, follow the prompts to view the trouble condition.

To silence trouble beeps, press Options, press Keypad Mode, then press #.

Communication Failure

Run a system test at the keypad. Press the options icon. Select User Function and enter your master code. Select System Test and the test should begin immediately. Press back until you are out of the menus.

NOTE: The system siren will sound for 3 seconds if the test is successful. After the test, the error should clear within 10 minutes.

Before Troubleshooting

Sensor Low Battery

Press *2 to view trouble condition. Follow on screen prompts.

Change the battery in the sensor. Make sure the cover is completely on when you are finished.

System Low Battery

Disarm your system and open the security system control panel (usually in the basement utility area) to find the system battery. Disconnect the black wire. Do the same with the red wire. Power Outage Trouble

Press *2, then press * for troubles, press * again, press # three times, and then trouble beeps should be silenced.

Communication Failure

Run a system test at the keypad. Press *6 and then enter your master code. Then press the right arrow until you see the screen say "System Test". Press the * button and the test will begin immediately. Press # until you are out of the menu.

Press the envelope with a red bubble to view your trouble condition.

Change the battery in the sensor. Make sure the cover is completely on when you are finished.

Sensor Tamper

Ensure the cover to the sensor is on securely. Take the cover off and put it back on if necessary. Make sure the cover itself is not damaged or broken.

Call our office if the message does not clear.

Sensor Supervisory

Power Outage Trouble

To silence the trouble beeps, it is easiest to do from your Alarm.com app. 

Open the Alarm.com app, directly under the trouble condition there is an option to silence trouble beeps.

Concord 3, 4 & Express

Before Troubleshooting

Press the * button to see the keypad message. This is your status button, pressing it will show you the trouble condition and silence the beeping for 12 hours.

If the message says alarm memory, press the button again to clear out your alarm history.

Power Outage Trouble

Press the * button to see the keypad message. Trouble beeps will be silenced for 12 hours or until the power is restored.

If you have Alarm.com you can view the trouble from your app and silence the beeps from there.

Phone Line Failure

If you do not have a landline anymore call our office to discuss alternative options for your system. To silence the trouble beeps press the * button.

If you still have a landline, call our office to run a manual test of the landline connection.

If you are getting a phone line failure, but do not have a landline, please call our office.

Changing System Battery

Disarm your system and open the security system control panel (usually in the basement utility area) to find the system battery. Disconnect the black wire. Do the same with the red wire. Then place your new battery in the control panel and connect the red wire to red battery terminal and black wire to black battery terminal.

If you have an Express panel (only one antenna on top of the control panel), you will want to unplug the security system, replace the battery and plug the security system back in. Afterwards, you will need to program the time and date. See Changing Time & Date for instructions. Note: If your panel has two antennas you may disregard this step

 

You can find the battery at Interstate Batteries, Batteries Plus, Home Depot, Amazon and our office (Sometimes available at hardware stores such as Ace Hardware and True Value). We recommend taking the old battery with you to ensure you get the exact battery you need and you can have the store recycle your old battery.

Press the * button on the keypad.
The message should say System is OK.

Changing Time & Date

Press 9 + your master code on your keypad. This will bring you to the Time & Date screen on the keypad display. Press the # key on the keypad to enter the Time & Date screen. You will then see the existing time on the display.

To change the time, enter in the new time and press the # key to confirm your entry. The time is shown in 24-hour time. To change the date, press the down arrow (B) on the upper right side of your keypad. Enter the correct date (MM/DD/YYYY format). Press the # key to save your entry.

To exit out of this menu, leave the keypad idle for 1 minute and it will default out of the programming. Or you can press the * key three times or until you see Time & Date on display. You can use the A and B buttons on the top right of the keypad again until you see Exit Programming on the display. Press # to get to the main menu.

Press the status button to view your trouble condition. If you have a low battery, please call our office and we will schedule a day for us to come change it.
